Stallion had requests from several councils to produce new dog litter bins, so Kevin was approached to design them.
The brief called for easily recognisable and attractive 'doggie doo' bins that could be strategically placed around dog exercise areas and encourage owners to act responsibly in disposing of their dogs waste.
The bins also had to be strong and durable, capable of holding a certain amount of waste, prevent odour and spillage around the bin area and make it more difficult for household rubbish to be dumped in them.
Children's Playground
Client:
Stallions Plastics Ltd, Palmerston North
Brief:
This project required very little design as the client was very specific in what they wanted.
Kevin was bought in to tweak and improve on the concept and do the tooling for the rotational moulding.
ATV Gearbox
Client:
Agtech Industries, Whangarei
Brief:
Design an all purpose utility box specifically to hang off the carrier tray of a quad bike. A second version of the box was designed to sit on the carrier tray.
The finished product had to be easy to install, water tight and strong. It also had to be easily stackable to enable packing in a shipping container for export. The Gearbox also had an integral moulded hinge and catch mechanism making it very cost effective to produce.
Propagro
After speaking with an avid gardener, Kevin was inspired to design the Propagro. This is the only propagator that's vacuum formed as a one piece moulding and then simply folds in half with a graduated opening mechanism moulded in. This enables the Propagro to be sold for less than half the cost of most others that do not work as well.
The propagator has vents on the sides unlike others which are on the top. This is the optimum place to have them to retain moisture and humidity.
The Propagro was tested by the Consumers Institute and not only given their seal of approval, but also a glowing report.
